Confirm the exact ship landing, not only Krems port
For a river-cruise pickup, send Europe Pickup the vessel name, cruise operator, confirmed landing or berth, arrival date and the time passengers may leave the ship. A label such as Krems, Krems-Stein or Wachau on an itinerary does not by itself identify the road-accessible meeting point. Use the latest document from the cruise company and share any update before the driver departs.
Agree where the driver can wait legally and where you will stand with your luggage. A riverside parking area, a ship landing and a passenger meeting point can be different places. Keep the driver's number and the ship's reception contact available, but do not assume that either party can change the berth or hold the vessel.
If the ship arrives early or late, follow the waiting terms in your booking and contact Europe Pickup promptly. Cruise timetables can change, so a screenshot taken weeks earlier should not replace the operator's current arrival instructions.
Check the City of Krems transport and parking information →Choose the correct Prague endpoint
In Prague, enter the full hotel, apartment, station or airport address. Prague main station, Praha-Holešovice and Václav Havel Airport are separate pickup points with different meeting instructions. For an apartment, include the building number and confirm how the driver can reach the entrance.
For a departure from Prague to a cruise, work backwards from the cruise company's latest all-aboard time, not only the advertised sailing time. Allow for road traffic, comfort breaks, unloading and walking from the vehicle to the vessel. A calculator estimate is not a guaranteed arrival time.
If you are collected after a flight or train, provide the flight or service number and leave a safe connection buffer. A private transfer cannot protect a short, independently booked connection from an airline, rail or cruise delay.
Plan a Prague main-station pickup →Separate a hotel arrival from an Old Town visit
For a hotel stay, copy the complete address from the reservation and ask reception which entrance a sedan or minivan can use. Krems and Stein include pedestrian and historic streets; a map pin does not prove that a vehicle may stop at the door. Agree a practical unloading point before travel if the final metres are on foot.
The official regional tourism information describes a walk linking Stein by the Danube with Krems Old Town and the Steiner Tor. That is useful for planning a visit, but it is not a vehicle route. Decide whether you want a direct hotel transfer or separately confirmed waiting time for a walk, and keep any attraction or guided-tour reservation independent from the vehicle booking.
If you arrive before check-in, arrange luggage storage with the hotel. Do not leave cases in the transfer vehicle during an unbooked visit. Keep passports, medication and valuables with you even when storage has been confirmed.
Read the official Krems and Stein Old Town overview →Plan every optional Wachau stop explicitly
Dürnstein, Melk and other Wachau places can turn a direct transfer into a longer travel day. Request each stop before payment, specify how long you want outside the vehicle and review the complete itinerary and fare. A scenic place on the route page is an option to discuss, not an automatically included visit.
Attraction tickets, wine tastings, boat trips and a licensed guide are separate services unless your confirmation says otherwise. Check opening times and admission directly with the venue before arranging the transport around a timed visit. Leave a buffer between a visit and cruise boarding.
For a same-day Prague return, choose the return direction and waiting time as part of the plan. Do not book a one-way ride and expect the vehicle to remain available. Agree one recognisable return meeting point that every member of the group can find.
Match the vehicle to cruise luggage
Count every passenger, including children, and list large suitcases, cabin bags, folded mobility equipment and strollers separately. Cruise parties often carry more luggage than a simple seat count suggests. Ask for a fit check before confirming when the combination is unusual.
Request child seats in advance and describe any mobility assistance needed between the meeting point and the vehicle. If more than one vehicle is required, check the total price for the whole party and agree how passengers and bags will be divided.
Keep ship documents, passports, medication and one essential bag accessible during the drive. The larger cases may not be reachable without unloading the vehicle at a safe stop.
Compare sedan and minivan luggage needs →Calculate Krems to Prague as a fresh journey
For the reverse trip, start with the confirmed Krems landing or hotel address and select the actual Prague destination. Add the local pickup date and time, passenger count and luggage, then review the offered vehicle and total. Do not copy the outbound quote: direction, addresses and optional stops must be calculated for the return.
Before payment, verify the vessel or hotel meeting point, pickup time, contact number, vehicle count, complete price and any remaining balance. If the exact landing cannot be selected, contact Europe Pickup with the cruise document before confirming instead of choosing an approximate city-centre pin.
